In short: CLAT Logical Reasoning is passage-based. You identify arguments, inferences, assumptions, and what would strengthen or weaken a claim. It is closer to careful reading than to puzzle-book seating arrangements. Practise on CLAT previous papers.
What to mark in every passage
- The author’s conclusion in one line
- Evidence versus opinion
- Unstated assumptions
- Scope: does the option go beyond the passage?
Puzzles vs CLAT logic
Traditional bank-exam puzzles are poor CLAT training if the live paper is argument-based. Check the latest PYQs before you buy a puzzle book. Align practice with the CLAT syllabus.
FAQs
Is Logical Reasoning the same as Legal Reasoning?
No. Legal applies a given principle to facts. Logical tests argument structure. Some skills overlap; the questions do not.
How do I improve inference accuracy?
After each PYQ, write why the wrong options are too strong, too weak, or out of scope. That log is more useful than another unread PDF.
Should I practise LSAT-style questions?
Some argument questions look similar. Always weight official CLAT papers first.
How much time per passage?
Set a personal split after two timed PYQs. Do not copy someone else’s minute-count if your reading speed is different.
