What Cannot Influence Rankings

Last updated: 16 August 2026

In short: Ad spend, gifts, threats, unlabelled PR and fake reviews cannot buy a higher editorial ranking. Payment can only buy labelled advertising. Documented facts are not deleted because someone is unhappy with a list.

Advertising spend

Buying a campaign does not raise an editorial position. It can place a labelled ad near related articles. Bookings: Advertise With Us. Labels: Sponsored Content Policy.

Gifts and hospitality

We do not accept travel, gadgets, course seats or cash in exchange for coverage or a list place. Offers are refused and, if persistent, may be noted internally as a conflict risk. See Conflicts of Interest.

Threats and legal bluster

A legal notice without a factual error does not move a rank. If there is an error, we correct it under the Correction Policy. If there is not, the comparison stays.

Unlabelled PR and planted copy

Press notes are sources, not scores. We will not paste an institute’s “we are number one” language into an editorial list. Unlabelled advertorials are refused.

Fake reviews

Coordinated five-star dumps and paid testimonial mills are not evidence. How we treat real student comments: How Student Reviews Are Handled.

What can change a ranking?

Better documented fees, honest result claims, on-record faculty, and corrections we can verify. The scoring frame is on How we rank coaching institutes.
