In short: A result or “selection” claim is verified only when it is tied to a named exam, a year, and a dataset we can check (official list, roll identity, or an on-record institute statement that matches public records). Banners, WhatsApp PDFs and undated collages are not proof.
What does a selection claim need?
- The exam name (UPSC CSE, CLAT, and so on), not “civil services” in the abstract.
- The year or cycle the claim refers to.
- A countable set: named students we can match to a public list, or a figure the institute will stand behind on the record with a method.
- Clarity on whether the student was a classroom, interview-only, or test-series candidate.
What is not proof?
- Hoardings that say “100+ selections” with no year.
- WhatsApp broadcasts of unmarked marksheets.
- Photographs of students who later say they never enrolled.
- Copying another portal’s topper table without checking.
Interview guidance versus full-course claims
Many centres teach only the personality test after a student clears mains elsewhere. If an ad implies a two-year classroom programme produced that rank, we treat the claim as unverified until the institute states the relationship on the record.
What we publish when proof is thin
We describe the claim as advertised, omit a number, or say we could not verify it. We do not invent a “score out of 100” for results we cannot see.
