In short: We select institutes for a comparison by exam, city or clearly labelled online programme, a public footprint we can check, and reader demand. Brochure-only names and pay-to-enter requests are excluded. Inclusion is not a paid ranking.
What gets an institute onto a comparison list?
- A named exam (for example UPSC CSE or CLAT) that the centre actually teaches.
- A named city or a programme labelled as online with a checkable contact point.
- A public footprint: website, GST-registered entity, or a physical centre we can locate.
- Reader demand: repeated questions about that exam-city pair, not a private sales request.
What gets an institute excluded?
- Brochure-only operations with no address, fee sheet or on-record contact.
- Requests to pay a fee to be added to the editorial set.
- Centres that exist only as a WhatsApp number with no documents.
- Names we cannot distinguish from a franchise or a defunct brand without evidence.
Does a smaller centre get ignored?
Size is not the test. A small centre with a clear fee sheet and on-record faculty can appear next to a national brand. We may still omit a tiny centre if we cannot verify it exists at the claimed address.
Can advertising buy inclusion?
No. Advertising can buy a labelled listing. It cannot buy a seat on the editorial comparison set. See What Cannot Influence Rankings.
